OUR EMBLEM

 

 

Our emblem comprises the leopard (nkwe/indwe), the spear (lerumo/mkhonto), knobkerrie (patla/induku) and crown (korone/umqele).

 

The leopard has been selected as the central icon of the URKH logo, reflecting its values statement and also for its symbolism in African culture. It represents royalty, is majestic, agile, has poise, and is intelligent. The leopard represents our core values: leadership, local, enterprise, empowerment, engaged, organised, order, patriotism, progress, peace, agility, respect, and dignity. These are concepts at the core of our philosophy and work as URKH.
